Visit to Corte dei Venti Winery
Corte dei Venti News

Brunello di Montalcino
was born exactly in Montalcino, a little Tuscan village, in Siena province. It’s a pleasant hilly area that has become famous all over the world thanks to this highly prized wine product.
Corte dei Venti winery
is in the south east of Montalcino, the sunniest area, with a Mediterranean climate and red lands, between Sant’Angelo and Castelnuovo dell’Abate.
The origin of
Corte dei Venti
winery dates back to 1943, when the Pieri family bought Podere Piancornello in Montalcino. At the beginning, they focused their activity on livestock farming and on the production of wheat; actually, they started to produce wine, only thanks to their recent inheritance.
The name of the farm comes from the peculiarity of the winds flowing in this area. They allow a perfect Mediterranean climate for the cultivation of vines in all stages of production.
The winery is surrounded by five hectares of vineyards, in addition, two hectares still to be planted. Here, they produce Terre Rosse, Rosso di Montalcino and
Brunello di Montalcino
wines. From the next year, also Brunello Vigna and Sant’Antimo wines.
There are not only vineyards but also olive groves. In Corte dei Venti farm there are 3 hectares of centuries-old olive trees of different species such as Olivastra, Correggiolo and Moraiolo. Thanks to these olive trees, they obtain extra virgin olive oil with unique organoleptic characteristics.
Taking a look at the Cellar, you can see two different areas: one with barrels and wooden barrels where the wine is aged and the other one, where there are steel tanks for wine-making. The Cellar is at controlled temperature and humidification.
It is from here that after five years of aging in tonneaux and barriques the Brunello di Montalcino wine is born.
There is a beautiful and noteworthy stone room where all the awards and prizes obtained by Corte dei Venti winery are hung and there is also the area dedicated to the delicious tastings.
